Shawn Werdt
With over 15 years of coaching experience at both the High School and NCAA levels, Shawn is committed to helping athletes reach their highest potential. In addition to being a proven High School Head Coach, Shawn also served as an assistant coach at Philadelphia University for five seasons, under the legendary Herb Magee. Throughout his career, Shawn has trained and coached dozens of international professionals as well as countless NCAA DI, DII, and DIII athletes. Some clients have gone on to attend some of the top universities in the country, including the University of Maryland, Colgate, Lafayette, and Duke.

Dom Davenport
Coach Dom has over a decade of coaching at all levels including High School & and AAU basketball experience, making him a highly experienced and well-versed basketball trainer. He has a proven track record of success in individual instruction and has trained players at all levels, including the NCAA and Professional levels.
Coach Dom offers a personalized approach to basketball training, focusing on skill enhancement, mental resilience, and life skills vital for well-rounded athlete development.
Dom's passion for teaching the game of basketball and focus on player development makes him an invaluable asset to our basketball family at Uptown
Social Media Coordinator, 15 & Under National Assistant Coach
Peter Gard
After a successful career at Germantown Friends, Peter Gard went on to have a 5 year career at Widener University that was capped off with a conference championship win and an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2023.
Beyond his vast experience as a player, Peter has multiple years of experience coaching at camps and clinics. Peter is excited to help players become better on and off the court by bringing both his knowledge of the game, and experiences as a recent collegiate basketball player.
17 & Under Coach
Tim Clement
Tim Clement has been an avid follower of high school basketball in Southeastern Pennsylvania for over 20 years.
Tim attended Radnor High School, where he helped the basketball team to PIAA District 1 AAA playoff appearances in 2007 and 2008 and served as a captain his senior year.
He returned to Radnor as a coach in 2012 and spent 2 years assisting the junior varsity and varsity basketball teams. While at Radnor, Tim led scouting efforts, assisted with practice and game plan execution, and spearheaded the program’s offseason development program, developing and leading individual and group workouts and serving as the head coach of the junior varsity and varsity club teams.
While on Radnor’s coaching staff, Tim also served as co-director of the Raider Basketball Club, an area feeder program designed to identify and develop future members of the basketball program
Recruiting Director
Chris Angelos
Chris Angelos served as an Assistant Coach at Philadelphia University/Jefferson University, working alongside Naismith Hall of Fame Coach Herb Magee from 2012 to 2020. During this tenure, the Rams achieved remarkable success, amassing over 200 wins, securing three conference championships, and earning four NCAA Tournament Berths.
Chris played a pivotal role in recruiting and developing several all-conference players, including two All-Americans. Hailing from the Philadelphia area, Chris also contributed as an assistant coach at Cardinal O'Hara High School, where he played a crucial role in revitalizing the program's standing in the highly competitive Catholic League.
With an unyielding commitment to player development, Chris focuses on fostering incremental growth both on and off the court. Chris Angelos brings a meticulous approach to the game, emphasizing the importance of relentless effort and an unwavering attitude. His coaching philosophy revolves around instilling discipline, dedication, and a passion for continuous improvement among his plavers.
16 & Under Coach
Derek Johnson
Derek attended Atlantic Christian High School and accepted a scholarship to play under Hall of Fame coach Herb Magee at Philadelphia University where he started all four years and won two League championships.

Upon graduation, he went on to play professionally overseas for multiple years. Derek is currently a Varsity Assistant Coach at the Shipley school.
